Typhoon Shanshan makes landfall in Japan

Millions of people have been ordered to evacuate as Typhoon Shanshan pummels southwestern Japan. Authorities have warned this may well be the strongest storm to hit the region to-date. Winds were roaring at more than 250 kilometres per hour at one point, pounding Kyushu, one of Japan’s four major islands. Michiyo Ishida reports.
