Young children get calves to rear for a year - nice shots of kids with calves. Full title reads: “Chippenham. ’Mary had a little ... calf!’ 43 ’Young Farmers’ receive baby calves to rear at home for 12 months - & they get all the profit when they are sold!“ Chippenham, Wiltshire or Cambridgeshire (?) Crowd of young boys and girls. One by one they come forward and are given a piece of paper by a man standing in their midst. Closer shot. Young boy comes forward, the man draws a piece of paper from a hat, he gives the boy the piece of paper. Boys, girls and the odd mother hold on to young calves. Pan across the calf holding gathering. Closer shot of some of the youngsters with their calves. Parents and children walk the cows off. One man has trouble persuading the calf to go in the right direction.
