Thousands of NATO paratroopers fall in Ukraine

U.S., and NATO paratroopers assigned to 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade out of a U.S. Air Force C-130 during partnered airborne operations with the German 313th Airborne Battalion and the Czech 43rd Airborne Battalion in an undisclosed area around Ukraine. Ukraine has continued its counter-offensive operations and says it has taken control of the “main command heights“ around the eastern city of Bakhmut. Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said on Monday this would allow her troops to keep the entrances and exits of the city and the movement of Russian troops around it “under fire control“.
