It all started at the end of June 2020, when powerful, incessant downpours hit China. As a result, rivers began to overflow their banks and flood the surrounding areas. The situation was especially difficult in the Chinese provinces of Sichuan and Hubei. Heavy rains caused the water level in the Yangtze River, the largest in China, to rise above critical levels by more than 7 meters. Tens of thousands of residents were evacuated in the affected areas. The infrastructure of the settlements has been destroyed - there is no electricity or drinking water.
