Dark smoke could be seen rising from a fire burning on the street, next to where the crowds were marching. Several protesters carried signs and banners with messages such as, ’Nayib Bukele corrupted,’ and ’F**k Bukule and his Bitcoin.’ The central American country is the first country worldwide to have introduced Bitcoin as an official currency on September 7, 2021.
