Which Boost is better? Treble Boosts, EQ Pedals, and Tumnus Overdrives

One question I’ve heard over and over throughout the years is this: “Can I use my eq pedal as a Top Boost or Treble Boost?“ The answer is that it’s possible, but it’s not optimal. They are quite different in multiple ways.
