Numerous water channels of the city were painted in an unusual bright green color. The authorities took water samples and launched an emergency investigation, and there are already at least two versions of what happened. Preliminary analysis showed that the green color of the water came from fluorescein, a harmless dye commonly used to track the flow of water. The size of the spot indicates that at least 3 kg of the substance was dropped into the water. According to one version, the paint could have been spilled by environmental activists. Local gondoliers reported a group
