Two people have died in Canada as freezing rain and strong winds hit the country.
Freezing rain hit the two most populous provinces of the country - Quebec and Ontario. Quebec Prime Minister François Legault noted that one person has died in the province after a tree fell on him. Another death was recorded in eastern Ontario - a man died from being hit by a fallen branch.
In addition, due to the elements, more than a million residents of the two provinces were left without electricity. In Quebec, about 988 thousand consumers were without electricity, in Ontario - more than 130 thousand.
