Police Cadets (1966)

Various shots show a parade of police cadets being inspected by Sir Norman Skelhorn at Hendon Police Training School’s Passing Out Parade. At the Ashford Police Training College, a road accident is reconstructed for instruction purposes; cadets learn how to deal with the situation and take statements. Several shots at the colleges at Hendon and Ashford show cadets sitting around on a campus terrace, reading (not in uniform); selecting books in a library; taking lessons in a classroom; using surveying equipment. At Ashford, various shots show the young men in a sports hall; using a trampoline, practising judo and playing basketball. At Lippitts Hill Camp in Essex, we see the cadets dressed in army-type clothes, climbing and swinging on ropes; sliding down ropes from a tree to the ground (looks rather uncomfortable); leaping over muddy water; climbing walls and other assault course activities.
