State meteorologists have issued the warning as the weather forecast calls for heavy rain to sweep across Turkey’s provinces in the next few days, following heavy rain warnings in Istanbul where streets were flooded by the downpour. The latest five-day forecast of the State Meteorological Service of Turkey predicts the beginning of heavy rains, which will begin in the western and northern provinces, including Istanbul. Meteorologists warn that in the coming days, heavy rain will spread to the province of Thrace and some southern regions, which could lead to sudden downpours. The forecast predicts that there will be rains in almost the entire territory of the country, except for a few northwestern provinces. The rains are expected to gradually taper off early in the week, especially in the Aegean region and inland cities. . Due to precipitation in the western regions, the air temperature is expected to decrease by 3-5 degrees Celsius, in other regions - minimal temperature drops. Residents of Istanbul can expect temperatures to fluctuate within seasonal norms or remain 1-3 degrees below them until the end of the first week of next month. Meteorologists have issued warnings urging citizens to remain alert for severe weather conditions, including flash floods, lightning and strong winds that can accompany heavy rains. The recent torrential rains in various regions of the country have already disrupted daily life. In Istanbul, the rain paralyzed the city, the streets were flooded. In the western province of Aydin, in the Kusadasi district, torrential rain that lasted only 10 minutes turned roads into lakes and caused significant difficulties for drivers. Roads in the Turkmen microdistrict and along the coastal strip were especially affected. Municipal crews have started work on solving road problems that arose after heavy rains. A sudden downpour caused flooding in the neighboring district of Lapseki in Canakkale province. The water level in the Kojabash stream rose significantly, and an unused fishing boat sank in the Chinarlidere stream. The heavy rain turned the streets into temporary waterways, making it difficult for vehicles to move.
