Pixar “Partly Cloudy“ - New Soundtrack

For my high school Graduation Project, I chose to demonstrate learning of musical research through a final musical composition - scoring a short film. The film I scored is Pixar’s short film “Partly Cloudy“ which is attached to the movie “Up.“ I utilized original themes (though my frequent listeners will no doubt notice that I’ve ONCE AGAIN reused the theme from my snowflakes piano composition in this, because to be quite honest it fit very well into this short film, and also because I just love that melody so much. Said melody is written to represent the happy stork birds who deliver babies. In contrast, the darker cloud below who gets his own theme first introduced on tuba. The theme has a slightly quirky quality to it due to it’s use of a lowered 7th, which is a fairly characteristic sound in my opinion. Enjoy! I tried to write it to match up with the action as best as I can, though near the end I went for more of a fulfilling musical conclusion than matching the short film perfectly.
