How to Convert Text to Paragraph or Point Text in After Effects Tutorial

This tutorial is on how to convert Paragraph Text to Point Text or vice versa in Adobe After Effects. Here’s a recap on how to do it: To begin, it’s important to know the difference between Point Text and Paragraph Text in After Effects. For Point Text, when you click on one of the boxes that surrounds the text and pull it the text will be scaled. This can be useful but I often find myself working with Paragraph Text. With Paragraph Text, when you pull one of the boxes that surrounds the text you expand or shrink the area where the text can go. The scaling of the text is done using the parameters in the Character Panel. Now let’s do some text converting. Type some text in your composition that you will be converting using the Title Tool. Then hit the V key to activate the Selection Tool if you want to move the title around. To convert the text make sure your Title Tool is active. Now to activate it use the keyboard shortcut Cmd T (Mac) or Ctrl T (Windows). Then right-click on one of the boxes that surrounds the text in the composition monitor. Choose Convert to Paragraph Text or Convert to Point Text.
