Little Red Flying-Fox baby is not very well: this is Muppet

The Townsville area of Queensland has had an influx of Little Red Flying-Foxes coming into care. You will all remember that Little Reds breed 6 month out of sync with the other mainland species, and give birth during May and June instead of mid October to early December. When the local carers are inundated, the excess goes to Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast, and local carers (including Mandi) take them into care. Little Muppet is one of these babies, and though she is doing OK, she has been very ill with a horrible wing infection and her survival is not guaranteed. I love how Muppet lifts her wing when she’s being groomed, so the toothbrush can get into the itchy and tickly bits. It’s just priceless... Thanks Mandi for the footage. This footage is given in thanks for the continuing donations which help support the fruit costs for her bats, and for the eventual building of the airlock cage (after the harvest and when they get a new welder to fabricate the cage).
