Largest Ship of the Century (1858) Transatlantic Telegraph Cable, Great Eastern Old World Leviathan

Today’s a Memorial Day twofer. In this video we will discuss two very interesting topics: The World’s Largest Ship from 1858-1899 (or 1913 depending on how you look at it). The SS Great Eastern, original name Leviathan, which contained many aspects and features that not even much later vessels, like the Titanic, contained. We will also look at The Great Eastern’s greatest voyage, which was laying down the Transatlantic Telegraph Cable. We will discuss the questionable narrative given for this accomplishment, as well as take a look at the “machinery” that got the job done. Thanks for watching! Please let me know your thoughts below - Happy Memorial Day everyone!
