Steve Smith – An Afternoon At The Drum Museum – Part Two

Two more spontaneous solos that were meant for Tim Northup and my entertainment one afternoon. When I watched the solos a day later, I decided to share them as they showcase some of the incredible kits that Tim has collected. The first solo is played on a 1928 Leedy Black Elite kit with an engraved Black Beauty snare. The floor tom on this kit has a huge sound and reverberates the museum! The second solo is played on a kit that brought out my inner “Buddy!” It’s a 1968 Slingerland “Buddy Rich” model kit outfitted with classic Zildjian cymbals. -Steve Smith
