Ukrainian Combat Hopak Takes-Off in Poland: Dancers learn martial art based on Cossack traditions

Ukrainian combat hopak is becoming popular in Warsaw. The martial art based on a traditional Ukrainian dance hopak and fighting elements of kozaks (Cossacs) took roots in the military settlements in Zaporizhhya. Poles and Ukrainians who live in Warsaw have the opportunity to train in the traditional baggy pants (sharovary) and wear six-meter belt which protects the internal organs from injuries.
