Afternoon parade with the Lonach Highlanders during the 2022 Lonach Gathering and Games in Scotland

The afternoon parade of the Lonach Highlanders with their ceremonial Swords, Lochaber axes and eight-foot long pikes, marching around the Games field during the 2022 Lonach Gathering and Highland Games. This was held at Bellabeg in Strathdon, Scotland on Saturday 27th August 2022. The parade is led by three members of the Highlanders with their Lochaber Axes, then Drum Major Neil Jamieson with the Lonach Pipe Band, guest Drum Majors Derek Dean, Bert Summers, Ian Esson and Bill Barclay. For this display the Lonach Pipe Band were joined by Towie Pipe Band, Ballater & District Pipe band and Huntly & District Pipe Band. Bringing up the rear is Derek Grey and Socks the Lonach horse, there to carry any stragglers during their marches. The Highlanders are members of The Lonach Highland and Friendly Society, formed in 1823 and made up of men from the Strathdon area of Aberdeenshire in Scotland.
