Secret to College Success #4: Actually Learn

This is the fourth in a series of lectures that I am tentatively calling “How to Do Well in College.“ In this lecture video I explain the purpose of intermediate assignments (which were not graded for me at Oxford and Cambridge), such as homework, problem sets, quizzes, and essays. Their purpose, as crazy as this sounds, is to try to get students to actually learn the material. Once you realize this, and once you study in ways that aim toward actually learning, comprehending, and understanding the material, it makes your college courses much easier. Also, I point out that when you actually learn, your college courses . Yes, that’s right, and everyone seems to forget that.
