Master Forrest Enjoys A Banana

If there is a way for a flying-fox to get into strife, they will find it. We rescued Master Forrest this morning after homeowner Colin found him hanging in one of his small grevilleas. Grevilleas are a favourite food source for flying-foxes and I think that Forrest flew into the small backyard, landed in the shrubbery but had insufficient room to take off again. Master Forrest is a very big bat and big bats need height and a fair bit of open ground to launch. Following a merry chase around the grevillea I finally nabbed Forrest as he tried to climb the paling fence. Now enjoying a short spell in care, Master Forrest will be released back to the wild in a week or so once I am sure he hasn’t sustained a concussion or any injuries that are not as yet apparent.
