& ✮ Glamorous opening with “Fidelio“ in Grafenegg

This year’s Grafenegg Festival opened on Saturday evening with the concert performance of Beethoven’s opera “Fidelio“ in a dream cast with Jonas Kaufmann as Florestan and Sinead Campbell-Wallace as Leonore. It was a co-production of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and the Grafenegg Festival. There was much applause in the sold-out Wolkenturm. Jaap van Zweden, chief conductor of the New York Philharmonic, conducted the orchestra at the Wolkenturm.
