Partly, his move was to be closer to Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, with whom the Spacemen 3 founder had forged a friendship built on mutual admiration nearly a decade prior. After working together on Panda Bear and Animal Collective releases alike, the pair have come out with their first outright collaboration, this year’s ‘Reset’. On it, both creatives pour over their fondness of sixties pop in a sample-based, sunshine-filled record. As we all emerge from a cloud of darkness, it is a much-needed sonic balm of psych-pop happiness. Captured at TivoliVredenburg’s Grote Zaal on Sunday, 13 November during Le Guess Who? 2022.
