Nicaragua: Army celebrates 42 years with military parade in Managua

Subscribe to our channel! A military parade led by Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega celebrated the 42 years of the country’s army in Managua on Friday. Soldiers and vehicles paraded on the Avenida de Bolivar towards Chavez, near Lake Xolotlan. “I want you to see how the government has fought for this army to always be an honest, sincere and transparent army, always fighting for the people,“ Julio Cesar Rodriguez, a citizen, said while watching the military deployment. There were several blocks deployed in the parade representing the land, air and naval forces, the ecological battalion and the Special Operations Command, amongst others. The Nicaraguan Armed Forces were founded on 2 September 1979, replacing the National Guard, first as the Sandinista People’s Army and from 1995 as the Army of Nicaragua.
