Episode 4: Russian Ark - Moving to Russia - Living Expenses

In this episode I discuss average monthly living expenses in Rural Russia, and I also provide some words of advice and caution on money management. Clarifications: Property Taxes estimated to be $50 a year, (our taxes in the DFW area in Texas were over $8000 a year for the 3500 sqft/ 5 bedroom house we sold. We have high speed internet even though people closer to “civilization“ may not in certain villages further away from the main roads - these villages use dish communication for internet. Also - when it comes to grocery costs, experiences may vary - we have a large family and so our costs are based on feeding seven people. Gasoline in our area averages about 50 Rubles a liter or about $ a gallon. It has been our experience that the gas prices are VERY stable and only fluctuate very slightly, by 2-3 rubles over the course of the past year (in our area).
