California storms: Officials provide update on response after deaths, widespread flooding | LIVE

California state and federal officials are expected to provide an update on Friday regarding the ongoing response to storms that have brought widespread damage to the state, with at least 17 people having died as a result. According to Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday, more than half of California’s 58 counties were declared disaster areas. The northern part of the state could see more thunderstorms and another powerful weather front was expected to hit the state Friday.
