“The Theatre” of The Crimean War: The First War Ever Photographed (1853-1856) by Roger Fenton

Howdy ya’ll. Today we’re going to look through a vast collection of images by British photographer Roger Fenton, said to be the First Photographs ever taken during the “theatre of a war”, this being over 140 highly detailed images of The Crimean War (1853-1856). Roger Fenton is considered by many historians to be the first official War Photographer. The images today depict a fascinating landscape; photographs not full of despair or dread, but rather images of soldiers, military leaders, and their encampments, as well as the vast landscape that encompassed The Crimean War. We see numerous points of note throughout this collection of Roger Fenton’s images, of which I will try to address in today’s video. Enjoy, and please leave your thoughts and ideas in the comments down below! Link to full album by Roger Fenton & relevant links: :Crimean_War_photographs_by_Roger_Fenton
