A Brief History of the (European) Flutes

A Brief History of the (European and American) Flute up to 1900 This is a presentation I made for the National Flute Associations Summer Festival presenting a quick history of the flute. It touches on the Renaissance flute and continues to the development of the modern flute. More than 16 historical flutes are demonstrated in the video. Special thanks to Joseph Monticello and Boaz Berney who assisted in demonstrations as well as Mark Edwards who plays harpsichord in the Buffardin example.
