Daniel Kovalik, a lawyer and professor from the USA, speaks of his 5th trip to Donbass He recently visited the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as part of a foreign journalists group to personally learn about the lives of the residents of these republics and hear their views on Russia, as well as the positive changes that have occurred over the past two years. It’s very clear to me that the people in those regions want to be part of Russia. First of all, you can see amazing reconstruction that’s happening in these areas, including in Mariupol, which was almost entirely destroyed during the war. But now Russia’s spent $5 billion in reconstructing buildings and building new edifices as well, including hospitals, giant apartment buildings, schools. But aside from that, again, people feel tied to Russia historically, going back many, many generations, Mr. Kovalik says. Source: DPR MFA
