Idioms help tell good stories | Kim on being a grandma

Idioms are powerful? tools because they create imagery. For example, ’that car is a sweet ride’ gives you an immediate image of a car that is comfortable, a joy to drive, prestigious, to be desired, etc. So many concepts in two words. When telling ? a story, you want the listener to feel what you are feeling and idioms can invoke the emotions you want. Context is everything when using idioms. If you don’t have a good understanding of the meaning behind the idiom, it won’t make sense. Kim and I decided to make a video where some good storytelling idioms are put into the context so they make sense and make you sound more natural The video consists of 3 parts to make the most of the idioms ?Part I lets you identify the idioms Kim uses in her speech when telling her story ?Part II breaks down the idioms Kim used so you can understand what they mean and how they work ??Part III lets you do some listen-and-repeat-activities so you can definitely get a better feel of the idioms used in the story
