Studiopolis Zone Act 1 [16 bit; Sega Genesis] - Sonic Mania

Hey there! I’m back with a song that I’ve tried to remix before, but this time I did it right lol. The Sonic Mania OST and Tee Lopes himself inspired me to take music more seriously, so I have a lot of respect for this song, and even more for that insane piano solo that it has, but I’m happy that I finally managed to transcribe it. I had a lot of fun with the sound design here, I mostly tried to make the remix sound faithful to the original, (cause I’m tired of those remixes that just use sonic instruments and call it a day) but I think that the highlight of it is the imitation of the Mania brass of power, I spent like a whole hour designing that, but I think it ended up sounding pretty decent; another interesting point is that I used a “polyphonic“ instrument for those synth “strings“ that play in the background, and since that kind of instrument allows me to play 2 or more notes at once, the remix sounds like it’s using more channels than the genesis has. *Special thank to elpichonart for helping me out with that gorgeous pixel art animation that they did, please go check their art out: *Remix produced by me in Furnace Tracker.
