DIY Gemstones from CDs! (and Plastic Bottles)

We’re making holographic gemstones that remind me of opals using a CD and a plastic bottle! They will look good in many projects - whether you want to use them for costumes, decorations or jewelry. 0:00 Intro and Materials 0:14 Difference DVDs / CDs 1:15 Plastic Bottle Dome 1:58 Smooth vs. Textured 2:42 Gemstone Setting 3:37 Paint 4:05 Droggo the Space Dragon Egg I’ve already made all kinds of gemstones using plastic bottles, but these ones might be my new favorite. How can you not love rainbows captured in a gem? I will show you the difference between CDs and DVDs for crafting and how to cut CDs without them breaking. We will also create settings for the gemstones using yarn. These gemstones require no resin, no hot glue and no other fancy materials or tools, since it’s my mission to deliver budget-friendly craft ideas ;) Also, the gems are recycled! Eco-friendly, cheap and bling. What more do you want? :D ****** Mentioned videos: Soda can gemstones: DIY Dragon Eggs (For Christmas - or not!)
