The church of Resurrection of Christ in Hakodate (Japan, Hokkaido). The birthplace of The Orthodoxy in Japan. This beautiful & unique church was founded in 1859 by the Russian consul in Hakodate Joseph Goshkevich. It was the first orthodox temple in Japan. From 1861 saint Nicolay of Japan begun his mission right here. In 1907 the church completely perished in fires. New brick church was built in 1916. We had visit this place & worshiped here in 2013 with a group of students & professors of the Nokolo-Ugreshskaya seminary, that I represent. Here You can see some of our photos & videos.
