Born in 1941, Roger Lemerre has a special place in Confederations Cup history. He is one of only two coaches to have managed two different teams at the FIFA Confederations Cup (the other being Milan Macala who managed UAE in 1997 and Saudi Arabia 1999). However, Lemerre actually lifted the trophy when he coached France to the title at Japan/Korea Republic 2001.
