Bob Dylan - Jesus Christ (1960 EARLY & RARE)

Here’s a request (that’s right, you can make requests! I probably have every 1958-75 Dylan recording in existence). This song was written by his idol, Woodie Guthrie, and nineteen year-old Bobby is clearly trying to emulate him. This extremely rare track comes from what is known as the Minnesota University Tape, recorded most likely at Dylan’s university in September of 1960. You can tell Dylan is still trying to find his voice, something he will have by the end of the next year, a transition that can be seen in the Minnesota Hotel Tape, famously recorded at the home of folk-singer Bonnie Beecher (who Girl From North Country was supposedly wrote about). This is a very historical piece of music, and one of the earliest Dylan recordings in existence, so enjoy this gem while you can!
