Entry for SYTYCV category Fear-Regret-Love. |Judges Notes| Story: Freddie McLaire and Effy Stonem fall in love with each other, but are torn apart by several factors, from Effy’s emotional innavailability to her recurring psychosis seeping into Freddie’s desperation to save her. Emotions Fear: Effy’s fear of the “voices“ in her head and Freddie’s fear for her safety and mental health. Also, Effy’s fear to love and the repercussions of it. Regret: Effy’s regret of shunning Freddie and not letting him in when he could have helped her. Freddie’s regret of not being able to save Effy when he tried. Love: Their love for each other, plain and simple, which keeps them together even in the most dire of situations. I sort of posed the emotions in the order of fear, regret and then love, but the emotions seep into each other so I wouldn’t say there’s a concise order. I just hope the three emotions are clear and perceivable to all
