Blender: Classical SPH Dam Break

Blender will have a new, more accurate particle fluid solver. This animation shows a dam break using the new solver: 16000 particles representing 16 litres of water, simulated over 1.1 seconds of real time (slow motion; 1000fps played back at 24fps). :Ref/Release_Notes/ The SPH formulation is due to Gingold and Monaghan, and the smoothing function is due to Wendland. The solver was written by John Mansour at VPAC, with help from me and funding from the AutoCRC. In this demo, the inner dimensions of the tank are 800x600x200mm to mimic the experiments presented by Changhong Hu and Makoto Sueyoshi in their 2010 paper, ’Numerical Simulation and Experiment on Dam Break Problem’.
