383. How To Use A Hairdryer For Blooms!! / tlp pigments / art therapy

#fluidart #sheleeart #paintpouring Hi all! This is my first attempt at filming at multiple angles in order to better show how I blow out SheleeArt blooms on substrates 12“x12“ and larger. I’m using a Wazor hairdryer with 1875 watts. It has 3 heat settings, two fan speeds, and a cool jet button. You can find it in my Amazon shop (link below) under paint supplies. Anyway, most of this was filmed a couple of weeks ago, and I’m still exploring options for filming multiple angles in my narrow kitchen island. All ideas welcome! I ended up spinning this 12X24 rather than creating a deconstructed bloom, and I’m really happy with the dried results--let me know which orientation you prefer in the comments section. If you’re looking for the nifty “Hands Off“ handles I show in the last video; they’re in my Amazon shop under paint supplies. Link is below. *************************************************************** Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe: House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate: PPG Multi-Pro White & Pastel Base in Eggshell--pour straight out of the can Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe-mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator: Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); Minwax Polyacrylic Gloss 2:1 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well. Brands/Colors mixed: Golden Fluid Acrylics in Phthalo Turquoise, Titan Green Pale, and Iridescent Gold Fine; TLP pigments (This Little Piggy) in Lagoon and Parakeet. Golden Fluid Acrylics-- I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well. For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I’ll add a teaspoon of varnish/water to thin. (I make a bottle of “Jo-Wa“ by adding 1/3 JoSonja Gloss Varnish and the rest water, and keep it in a squeeze bottle and use as my “water.“) All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well. Cell Activator Colors: Australian Floetrol Amsterdam Permanent Blue Violet. 3.5:1 ratio Floetrol to paint. ********************************* Buy BIG bottles of Australian Floetrol here: Buy smaller bottles of Floetrol and This Little Piggy pigments here: DISCOUNTS: New!
