Wreck Of The R-38 Airship (1921)

Item title reads - Wreck of the R-38. First pictures of the ill-fated Airship which fell in the River Humber. Hull. L/S of the wreck in the water partially submerged, boats sail past it. M/S of the crashed wreck, C/U of some of the frame of the wreckage. Intertitle ’Aviation-Rigger Norman O. Walker - only American survivor of the disaster. He is sat down with some other men, one of them checks his hands. M/S of Norman, he looks very young. Intertitle ’All that was left of the Wonder Airship after one tide has passed over it’. The aeroplane is now in bits and has sunk a lot more, we see men in a boat rowing away from it.
