Fire breaks out in Tesla battery storage unit near Rockhampton

A fire has broken out at a battery storage bank in Central Queensland. The blaze is believed to have started in a Tesla lithium battery storage unit near Rockhampton just before 8pm on Tuesday night. The fire remains confined to a single Megapack module, and its cause remains unknown. Fire crews are working to prevent the fire from spreading – which could burn for several days. Residents nearby are being warned to keep windows closed as hazardous smoke lingers.
