Chasiv Yar destroyed: City becomes the latest victim of Russian bombing campaign

Chasiv Yar, a Ukrainian city near Bakhmut, has been partially flattened as it becomes the latest victim of Russia’s ruthless bombing campaigns. Eerie drone footage shows how a church and the surrounding neighbourhoods in the south-east of the city have been flattened as Putin’s troops try to advance there. The footage echoes the fates of Mariupol, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka - all of which were conquered by Russia only after its army had bombed them into oblivion. Chasiv Yar is Russia’s latest target after Avdiivka fell earlier this year. The city sits atop strategic high-ground in Donetsk Oblast and taking it would allow Russia’s artillery guns to range even more cities. Putin is hell-bent on capturing the parts of Donetsk he does not already control, in order to claim his ’special military operation’ has been a success. It seems he is determined to do so even if it means destroying the region in the process. #russia #ukraine #war Daily Mail Homepage: Daily Mail Facebook: Daily Mail IG: Daily Mail Snap: Daily Mail Twitter: Daily Mail Pinterest: Get the free Daily Mail mobile app:
