High Court judge throws out proposed coal mine in West Cumbria

The decision to approve the UK’s first coal mine for 30 years has been thrown out by a High Court judge. The mine was green lit by the previous Conservative government - but legal challenges were submitted by climate activists, who argued its approval did not take into consideration the environmental impact.
