Lately the news media has been filled with stories of the Iranian protests, as women in the Middle Eastern nation rebel against draconian restrictions including compulsory wearing of the hijab. And here in the United States there’s been nothing but support for the protesters expressed. But does the US government give a rat’s ass about human rights abuses committed by Iran or is Iran merely an official enemy and so THEIR human rights abuses merit attention whereas similar abuses committed by official allies can be ignored.
