Full title reads: “M.V. ’Dallas City’ - Launched at the Haverton Hill Shipyard of the Furness Shipbuilding Company - 16th July 1936 - by Mrs Lamar Fleming of Houston City, Texas for Reardon Smith Line Ltd., Cardiff.“. Mrs Lamar Fleming and other dignitaries walk across shipyard. Low angle shot of hull of large ship. Shots of the ship being moved by tugs are intercut with shots of shipyard workers. ship - the Dallas City. Pan along launching platform with dignitaries on. The platform is decorated with the Stars and Stripes American flag and the Union Jack British flag. MS men knock and push away wooden chocks from underneath keel of ship. More shots of dignitaries. Mrs Fleming swings a bottle at the ship and launches her. VS of the ship sliding down the slipway. Men of the shipyard wave her off. N.B. Item found in Unidentified Gazettes reel.
