IRISH FOLK METAL / PAGAN METAL The Dead, the closing song on ’The Living and the Dead’ represents the anger and frustration that has been building throughout the album, and throughout the previous Cruachan albums. We have always made our feelings known on the damage the church has wreaked throughout Ireland, historically and in modern times. Many songs on this album talk about the horrors Irish women and children endured in the catholic mother and baby homes yet, to this day, the church has not been held accountable. If this was any other organisation they would have been run out of the country. Musically, we had to unleash every ounce of Cruachan style Black Metal that we could.
