Amateur Spirit by Janet Noguera

New album, Myriad Worlds by Janet Noguera, is out now! Amateur Spirit is the third track from the album. It is a solo acoustic lap tapping original composition. Amateur Spirit, as with its Latin roots, “Amor” is about love; spirit of love for learning, curiosity, discovery, wonder, enjoying the process of learning, growing, keeping a beginner’s mind, and embracing the child-like consciousness. I developed this piece a few years back, through live improvisations while busking in San Francisco. I love playing this tune and immersing myself into its atmospheric vibe, harmonic modulations, progressive drive, and fun riffs. For this video, I went out in nature to old growth forests; places of wonder, to some of my favorite places around where I live in the Bay Area CA: Cascade Falls in Mill Valley, Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park in Oakland, and Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve in Sunol.
