At the end of March, a sharp cooling and snowfall replaced almost summer-like heat in several European countries. In Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 24th, after a drop in temperature, heavy snowfall surprised locals, especially in mountainous areas. Similar temperature fluctuations occurred in Montenegro and Croatia. On March 23rd, it was warm, but by the morning of March 24th, snow covered the ground, leaving locals bewildered. The same day, Slovenia experienced a storm with heavy rain, wind, and even hail in some places. Up to 6 inches. of snow fell in mountainous areas. Temperatures dropped by ten degrees Celsius or more in some places, with wind gusts exceeding 62 miles per hour in central Slovenia. Storm-related incidents numbered 145, with trees knocked down and roads damaged. In Portugal on the night of March 25th, snow fell in areas like Jeresh, Paredes-de-Coura, and Aroka after a period of intense heat. During the same period, bad weather hit western and northern France. On March 27th, snow fell in Brest and surrounding areas, a rare event for this time of year. Spring snowfall was also reported in western Serbia due to low temperatures brought by a cyclone.
