The Arctic, part I: Nunam Iqua - by Berghäll Triality

Joakim Berghäll - baritone saxophone Kalle Kalima - electric guitar Kari Ikonen - prepared piano August 2017 we got together for the first time with my new trio, to record a suite in four movements I composed for baritone saxophone, bass clarinet, prepared piano, Moog synthesizer, electric guitar and electric bass VI guitar. The results will later be released as an album “The Arctic“. Here’s is part one, recorded and shot in an old Villa in the south of Finland, hosted by the local musicians’ union. Nunam Iqua is a place in Alaska, meaning “The End of Tundra“, in Yupik language. Camera operation, direction and video post production by Antti Kokkola.
