JUNTO NAKATANI (JAPAN) vs ANDREW MALONEY (AUSTRALIA) KO FIGHT

Welcome guys thanks for joining me again in this update. I hope you’re all well. So guys, the fight between Junto Nakatani and Andrew Moloney took place on May 20th, 2023, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This Top Rank bout was a significant match-up in the super flyweight division, showcasing Nakatani’s rising star power and Moloney’s experience and resilience. They were both competing for the vacant WBO World Super Flyweight belt in a 12-round contest. I have to say guys this was a fantastic knockout fight to watch. The Australian, Andrew Moloney definitely put in a gutsy performance but Nakatani was just too good on the night in question. The Japanese star Junto Nakatani, known for his height, reach, and powerful left hand, entered the ring undefeated with a record of 24-0. He showcased his ability to fight at both long-range and short-range. Actually guys if you think about his knockdowns, three in total, you’ll remember that the first was at short range through a deadly salvo of uppercuts. The second came at long range, where he landed a piercing and powerful Southpaw left hand. And then the final knockdown that ultimately ended the fight was timed to perfection to land at short range. And I have to remark Nakatani’s boxing IQ, ring generalship and technique are impeccable and a delight to watch. But I have to admit, right at the end, Tim Bradley did notice Nakatani’s posturing. He was maintaining distance with a fast jab but subtly preserving power in his left hand to unleash the overhand knockout punch that he ended the fight with. Guys that was an amazing fight that was concluded decisively.
