The Mystery Of Socks Follow #Holldën here: Follow #KuiperNoise here: Ever since Holldën refocused on Kuiper Noise - the label he founded back in 2017 - as his main musical output vessel, he has been quickly ascertaining himself as a merciless provider of infectious floor tracks, delivering knockout punch after knockout punch in an unsettlingly breezy and effective way. And while ’Off The Bone’ follows a similar template for energetic groove-making and layered textures, it still manages to strike a difference in the series on the back of its circular structures and blunt loop drive, building on scenes reverent of cult club techno. Perhaps the shiniest example of its driving force might just be ’Mona Loser’, the stellar opening banger which checks all levels on the pleasure scale, donning a façade of grooves both muscular and sexy, and riding it out with a storm of percussive exchanges and feel-good vocal sampling. Strikingly, track #2 - ’The Wrath of Bambi’ - presents an almost entirely opposite tone, setting up a heavy and driving mood from the get-go, which progresses confidently into an ever more conflicting tone as it races to the end, while still managing to stay loyal to the main structural tenets of the EP.
