Chinese Vessel ATTACKS Filipino Coast Guard Ship With Water Cannon

This is the moment a confrontatIon obroke out between the Chinese and Filipino Coast Guard The clash occurred in a disputed area of the South China Sea on Tuesday A Filipino coast guard ship was carrying out a resupply mission to the BRP Sierra Madre, a World War II era warship that the Filipino military grounded in the late 90s to serve as an outpost to bolster the nation’s claims in the area. They then encountered “dangerous manoeuvres” from a Chinese Coast Guard ship attempting to intercept their mission to resupply the ship. The Chinese vessel fired water cannons at the supply ship, shattering the windshield. Four Filipino crewmen were injured during the encounter. The Chinese Coast Guard defended their actions, saying “…it took control measures in accordance with the law”. The area, known as the Second Thomas Shoal has been at the centre of several recent altercations between the two countries.
