John The Revelator - Wild Blues 1970 (Netherlands, Blues Rock)
The Dutch band from Haarlem, created in 1967 by vocalist / bassist Tom Huissen, who had previously lived in London, where he became friends with Peter Green and witnessed the first rehearsals of the group Fleetwood Mac. Upon returning to his native Holland, Tom began to form a blues band following the pattern of Fleetwood Mac. Concerts of the new group, called “John The Revelator“ (John the Theologian), were held in Holland and Europe. In 1970, they won a prestigious jazz competition, and the label “Decca” offered them a contract. The result was the legendary album Wild Blues. The album was recorded at Phonogram; produced the album Tony Vos, who worked with Cuby Blizzards, Ekseption and Oscar Benton Blues Band. Only a few days were given for the recording, and the compositions were recorded with virtually no overdubs. The group is still active, although they have very few released albums.
